Job Purpose

To implement Atlas Mara Public Sector strategy in-country focused on every product, sales, service, and distribution aspect related to the Public Sector encompassing product development based on market analysis, sales campaigning and monitoring, portfolio- and file management and relationship and event management.

Role Skill Requirements

  • Understanding of the local official language to be relevant to the market
  • Sound understanding of local banking regulations and legislation affecting banking
  • Understanding of local culture and how things are done
  • Sound knowledge of customers, segments, products and service in country for Retail and Business Banking (savings, transactional and lending products)
  • Strong understanding of local legislation and regulatory requirements (e.g. Banking Act)
  • In-depth knowledge of industry best practices
  • Relevant systems, processes, policies, procedures and work flows and their interconnections
  • Atlas Mara control framework
  • Business-specific risks and controls
  • Key stakeholders across the group and their expectations of the function
  • Extensive knowledge of Public Sector & Ngo Sector and sales management
  • Proven track-record in customer and product initiatives
  • Sound understanding of financial performance management
  • Strong credit (particularly lending) knowledge
  • Relevant IT knowledge of electronic channels and products
  • Sound knowledge of banking legislation
  • Comprehensive risk management skills encompassing the governance, risk and compliance landscape
  • Knowledge of full MS Office suite

Qualification and Skills:

  • A good first degree in any discipline or equivalent degree. Relevant Masters’ degree will be an advantage
  • 3+ years’ Public Sector & NGO experience with substantial exposure to all aspects of Public Sector relationship Management
  • Excellent Oral & Written communication skills
  • Strong relationship building, networking and communication skills with an ability to engage people at all levels both internally and externally
  • Interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Innovative, able to generate new ideas and creative solutions
  • Team leadership skills
  • Presentation Skill / Problem solving capabilities
