Role Overview:
Sampler required to follow the sampling procedures i.e. sample and prepare all the plant and third-party material. This job requires that you work for hours standing, lifting samples and crushing samples. Requires one to sometimes work night shifts and weekends to complete the work assigned. Required to provide accurate results of the samples taken.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To sample all the samples received at the material handling area; both grab and final samples
- To make sure that all the samples are entered in the sample receipt book
- To carry out Splitter Operations
- To make sure that all samples are stored properly and are disposed of at scheduled times
- To make sure General waste is disposed of appropriately
- To determine and analyze moisture in the samples
- To main good housekeeping in the sample preparation room and storage at all times
- To check the grind quality weekly
- Utilizes good laboratory practices and ensures work is complete to required standard,
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in repetitive tasks
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment for all employees and customers, both inside and outside the premises
- Wears appropriate personal protective equipment and identifies hazards that may arise
- Ensure Sample storage and the preparation room is kept clean at all times
Skills & Personal Attributes
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Very good organizational skills
- Good interpersonal, networking and teaming skills
- Proficiency in the use of office productivity tools
Preferred candidate qualifications & experience
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Diploma in Science Laboratory Technology or its equivalent.
- Previous Sampling experience is an added advantage
- Valid Silicosis Certificate
