CAREER OPPORTUNITY IN TECHNICAL SERVICES DEPARTMENT

The Company seeks the services of a Senior Rock Mechanics Officer (x1).
The successful candidate will be responsible for Geotechnical mapping, logging and data plotting, Quality Assurance Quality Control (QA/QC) inspections on all installed ground support and support audits in all mining operations.
The responsibilities of this role will include but are not limited to the following:
- To carry out underground mapping, core logging and plotting
- Operate the geological compass; pull test machine, Schmidt hammer, tape extensometer and shotcrete machine
- QA/QC inspections on ground support
- Conduct geotechnical inspections
- Supervise works of Dumps Inspector and Rock Mechanics Officers
- Liaise with Rock Mechanics Engineers and Mining Officials on a daily basis
- Prepare a geotechnical report monthly on rock mechanics activities
- To advise production personnel on correct techniques on ground support installation
- Conduct on site ground control awareness training Drive the health, safety and environment standards/policy awareness and practices in the department to ensure compliance
To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:
- Grade 12 School Certificate or equivalent
- Diploma in Rock Mechanics or equivalent
- Blasting license Holder
- Two (2) years practical mining experience in rock mechanics operations
- Basic knowledge of the Zambian Mining Regulations
