Driver 

Job Description

With minimum supervision, the job holder performs a variety of vehicle driving duties in line with the University Vehicle Usage Policy and in conjunction with other University policies and regulations.

He also ensures that vehicles and auxiliary equipment and fixtures are maintained in good working conditions and promptly reports any defects to the relevant authority.

Duties

  1. Drive vehicles as directed by the supervisor with strict adherence to the University Vehicle Usage Policy and other related policies.
  2. Carry out minor mechanical repairs vehicles, auxiliary equipment and fixtures.
  3. Carry out daily check for the general condition of vehicle such as electrical systems, fuel level, tyre pressure, water level, oil level, body dents and any other damages and defects and report all defects to the supervisor.
  4. Correctly fill in the vehicle log book before and after each trip.
  5. Maintain the vehicle in a clean, neat and safe condition.
  6. Ensure orderly behaviour by passengers
  7. Monitor and implement the vehicle routine maintenance and service schedules.
  8. Perform library management duties as directed by the supervisor and management.
  9. Carry out other duties as directed by the supervisor and management from time to time.

Education

Grade 12 certificate and in possession of a clean Class C driver’s licence

Furthermore, the Curriculum vitae should be current, not more than five pages long, clearly state the duration(s) and nature of their past and current work experience; and include at least four traceable referees.

Please note that only shortlisted applicants will be communicated to. Additionally, all shortlisted applicants will be required to present certificates of verification/validation of all their academic and professional qualifications from the Zambia Qualifications Authority during the interviews.
