Job Purpose
The Project Engineer will coordinate and manage engineering and technical development projects and be responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines needed to complete a project. Work to plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure the proper implementation of project elements. Take charge of the engineering and technical disciplines of ongoing projects and will establish inspection criteria for the proper implementation of all the elements of a project.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned engineering projects.
- Formulating project parameters and assigning responsibilities to the most capable employees and monitoring the project team.
- Collaborates with project staff to create a strategic action plan and cost estimates of materials, time, labour, and other resources required to complete the project.
- Facilitates and contributes to the development of project plans and designs.
- Recommends and/or analyzes materials, equipment, and practices used in the project.
- Assesses the competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status of vendors
- Interacting with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing them in the field
- Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project’s status.
- Cooperating and communicating with the Project Manager and other project participants and collaborating with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project’s profitability.
- Reviewing the engineering tasks and initiating the necessary corrective actions.
- Developing specifications for the project’s needed equipment.
- Creating frameworks to measure the project’s metrics and data collection.
- Establishing field test methods and methods for monitoring the quality of those tests.
- Analyzes equipment, systems, processes, and systems to identify modifications to improve efficiency, increase quality, and reduce costs.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
- Must have a minimum of 4+ proven project planning work experience as a Projects Engineer or related
- Excellent computer literacy and knowledge of design and visualization software
- Experience with process simulations and standard operating procedures.
- High-level knowledge of process engineering software systems.
- Must have extensive knowledge of Project Management
- Experience working with CAD and AutoCAD.
- Must have a basic understanding of ISO 9000 design requirements.
- Familiarity with state health and safety regulations.
- Ability to Manage Multi-projects
- Must be a member of EIZ
