YOUR POSITION WITH TNC

The Project Finance Analyst provides highly specialized financial & accounting-related services principally to the GEF Ecosystem Conservation Project and provide a level of support to other small projects managed by TNC in Zambia. They work closely with the Regional Finance Manager, the GEF Project Manager, and other technical managers to ensure best practice in accounting and financial administration, ensuring that technical deliverables are tied to financial reports. Reporting to TNC’s Regional Finance Manager and working in close coordination with the GEF Project Manager, the position is located in TNC’s Lusaka Office. No relocation or visa sponsorship is being offered with this position unless as required by the local labor laws.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

As a member of the project management team, the Project Finance Analyst provides specialized services in the following areas for support to the Zambian GEF-funded project and other small projects: budget monitoring, budget variance analysis and financial reporting; project financial management and local procurement; and quarterly project financial reports reviews. The Project Finance Analyst administers and maintains finance/accounting activities in accordance with TNC policies and procedures and best practices in financial/organizational management, while adhering to strict operating procedures that uphold the GAAP, UN and GEF financial management guidelines and regulations. They provide assistance to all levels of project personnel in their work as a subject matter expert in area(s) of specialization; financial reporting and analysis, proposals review and alignment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and 4 years’ related experience or equivalent combination
  • Professional qualification in accountancy, such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA.
  • Full Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute Management Accountants (CIMA) or the Zambian Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA).
  • Four (4) years’ previous experience in accounting and financial management, overseeing procurement, administration, and reporting.
  • Experience using accounting and financial reporting systems.
  • Experience in manipulating, analyzing and interpreting data and excellent computer skills advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel; and be conversant in using other accounting packages such as Pastel, SUN System, NAVISION, QuickBooks or similar Software.
  • Experience in full cost budgeting.
  • Experience with written, presentation, communication and organizational skills in English.
  • Self-starter and ability to work independently, pay careful attention to detail and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
