Legacy Hilltop Africa Limited (the Lodge) is a faith-based, Christian Organization. The property, which is situated in Meanwood, off Great East Road, is comprised of 58 guest accommodations and 2 Presidential Suites. All of these guest rooms and suites are of the highest quality, with an Ensuite bathroom including tub and walk-in glass shower, individual air conditioning, and private balconies, many with sweeping views from the hilltop. We are seeking to hire qualified candidates for the position of Food and Beverage Supervisor
Role Responsibility:
- Welcome, meet and greet all the guests in a professional manner.
- Ensures that the conference rooms set up are up to standard before the meeting begin. i.e., Rooms swept, mopped, dust free, writing pads, pens, mint sweets, tea/coffee stations, white board, projector, PA system, extension cables, flipcharts, markers, water on the tables, handwashing station, etc.
- Ensures that all back of house and front of house areas are kept clean
- Ensures that all the food orders taken from the guests are accurate and are punched on the POS correctly.
- Ensures that the food and beverages are delivered on time.
- Ensuring that all receipts and invoices are posted correctly.
- Coordinate with the Kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and Guests satisfaction. For example, constantly checking for the orders and what food items on the menus are missing.
- Maintain excellent dining experience by making sure that servers are delivering items, offering drinks, refilling glasses, replenishing utensils.
- Assist with stocking and maintain the departments par stock levels and side stations.
- Print the closing report and drop the cash with the cashier or night auditor.
- Ensure that all the credit card settlements of the day match.
- Close the shift on the POS terminal
- Assisting in ordering and ensuring that all the bar stock is available
- Assist with the creation of cocktail menus and ensure all the menus are updated on the POS machines
- Ensure that all the bar and Café equipment are kept clean and are in good working conditions
- Understand and communicate products and services available at the Lodge.
- Assist with closing duties including storing of all reusable goods, cleaning all equipment’s and areas, returning all equipment to their proper locations.
- Take inventory of food, beverages and supplies for each day.
- Close out the shift by cleaning and restocking supplies for the next day or shift.
- Scheduling the staff to ensure consistence in service delivery.
- Assist in the training of staff and performance management.
- Ensures that all operating machines are working efficiently.
- Ensures consistent implementing the service standards and operations in all the sections.
- Attend to all the guests queries and complaints in a professional manner.
Academic and Professional Qualifications:
- Diploma in Food and Beverage Management Services/ Hospitality Management
- 2 years experience in a similar role working in a Hotel/Resort
- Experience in Property Management Systems and Point of Sale Software
- Must have excellent communication skills
