Job Purpose
The Key Account Coordinator will be responsible for managing the customer/category day-to-day operations while delivering sales and profitability targets for their account base in the assigned territory. The Key Account Coordinator will be the liaison between the company and the dealer, ensuring all operations at the station from the sale of fuels, lubricants, LPG and non-fuel retailing activities conducted at the station are done in a safe manner with due regard to the Company HSSE policies and industry best practice
Summary of Key Responsibilities
- Monitor territory delivery of the Customer Commitment (Monthly service standard and housekeeping checks, Mystery shopper surveys) and compliance to Site Operations/HSSE standards, contracts and all legal and regulatory compliance by the Dealer. Instigate remedial action plans where necessary.
- Build customer relationships at the buyer and senior buyer levels and
facilitates connectivity in other functional areas including Marketing,
Supply Chain, Communications and Operations. - Develop a profitability grid for each Company Owned Dealer (CODO) and Dealer Owned Dealer Operated station
- Measure shop losses and gain and calculate the actual margin per product family by performing a balance of materials
- Develop overall Sales and marketing plans to achieve maximum growth within assigned geographic territory and named accounts.
- Develop trust relationships with a portfolio of major clients to ensure they do not turn to competition
- Acquire a thorough understanding of key customer needs and requirements
- Conduct monthly gauging (dip readings) in each of
the stations and Performs monthly station pump index readings in order
to verify compliance with exclusive supply rules - Measures fuel
losses and gains by performing meter dip analysis and recommend
necessary action to mitigate and reduce the losses that are above
tolerance - Expand the relationships with existing customers by continuously proposing solutions that meet their objectives
- Provide timely, accurate & complete sales reports and forecasts along with updating Sales Opportunities.
- Engage and leverage effective relationships with internal resources and industry partners to create opportunities and further drive solution-based sales.
- Ensure the correct products and services are delivered to customers in a timely manner
- Serve as the link of communication between Key Accounts and internal teams
- Resolve any issues and problems faced by customers and deal with complaints to maintain trust
- Take the lead in generating new accounts that will turn into long-lasting relationships
- Any Other duties as assigned by the Head of Sales & Marketing /CEO

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Marketing, Engineering, Business Administration or Relevant Commercial Field
- Minimum 4 years of experience in Sales and Marketing of Fuels, Lubricants and LPG.
- Proven experience in Key Account / Retail Management
- Experience in generating high sales and providing solutions based on customer needs
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an aptitude for building relationships with professionals of all organizational levels (Multinationals, Mines and Farms)
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability in problem-solving and negotiation
- Must be a member of ZIM
