1. Host
Job Description
Reporting to Lead Host
To ensure the Host is aware of his/her duties, processes and procedures within African Bush Camps organisation and to maintain standards throughout the lodge whilst developing the growth in employees. Hosting is an art, the anticipation of what the guests needs before they ask and to assess the situation to determine if the guest requires interaction or would prefer quite time to themselves. It is important to not over crowd the guest with staff.
- Ensure all meals are setup is in accordance with lodge standard style guides before the guests arrive to the table.
- Welcome guests on their arrival to the lodge and from activities.
- Ensure service of the guests follows the service guides set out
- Entertain guests in accordance to Lodge standards without neglecting a guest but without being over bearing.
- Ensure guests have everything they require before leaving for morning activity; water, sun screen, cameras and see the guests off
- Prepare welcome packs and notes for arriving guests
- Collect guest evaluation forms and communicate with manger on points raised by the guest positive and negative and where necessary report to the sales manager.
- Update information boards at back of house with arrival, departure, dietary requirements, flight details, who is sitting for which meals etc.
- Check in new guests as per check in as per lodge checklist and give them the lodge orientation as per lodge checklist
- Host afternoon high tea
- Complete front of house checklist
- Ensure you are presentable at all times.
- Ensure service of all meals are being conducted in accordance with the service style guide
- Confirm the guests wake up calls and departures times for the following day
- Ensure our safety protocol is being observed at all times.

Job Description
To guide and host guests to the maximum of your ability whilst upholding the companies standards and name. You report to the Activities Manager.
- Communicate on a daily basis with Activities Manager and Management as to guest allocations and requests.
- To ensure guests receive all the information regarding any projects taking place in and around the Livingstone Area and National Parks in the areas of operations i.e Foundation projects and Conservation and Wild life Fund.
- Help in any way possible to promote the ABC brand.
- To ensure the guests receive the most professional and efficient service possible while guiding. Ensure guests hotboxes and cooler boxes are packed according to lodge protocol.
- Ensure that your assigned vehicle or boat has been checked by the maintenance team and simultaneously report any issues to be attended to immediately.
- To check that their respective vehicles and / or boats are clean and up to standards appropriate for a guest of ABC.
- Carry out any research assignments that have been allocated.
- Liaise with Activities Manager and Management on any assignments which need to be carried out
- Help with the training and development of Junior Guides within ABC.
- Raise any issues with the Activities Manager as and when they occur.
- Ensure that all relevant documentation required of the guide is completed and submitted to the Activities Guide in due time.
- To make sure communications on the ABC digital platforms is up to date.
- Filling in of sightings book.
- Uphold the guides’ code of conduct.
Qualifications

- Full Guiding Qualifications
- Be able to do Game Drives and River activities like canoeing, fishing and river cruises
- PSV Qualified Drivers license
- Coxswain license

- Preparation of senior staff meals as per chefs menu planner
- Delegation of daily duties to the kitchen porters
- Kitchen and stock room walk through as per check list
- Fill out daily menu board noting times of meals when you are required
- Liaise with the hostess on the service times and any specials, dietary requirements, guest requests
- Ensure kitchen team is adhering to safety and hygiene policies and procedures

Job Description
- Assist when required to ensure the butlers’ white board is updated regularly with any guest information, dietary requirements, requests, special events, guests’ first names etc.
- Update service team with daily tasks when required
- All meals are set up according to service and style plan
- Any guest requests or requirements are communicated to the Lead Hostess and amongst the team service team are to greet their guests by their name.
- Maintaining the professional code of conduct at all time
- Adhering to the hygiene policy as per lodge standards
- Any guest issues are brought up with the head butler and lead host immediately
Senior Butler is to greet his / her guest upon arrival at the lodge as well as from activities - Any maintenance issues are communicated to the head butler or maintenance team
- Breakages, missing stocks / assets must be reported immediately to head butler.
- Overseeing bar stocks and ensuring that there are no discrepancies
- Ensure a smooth flow of service as per the style and service guide.

8. Maintenance General Hand
Job Description
Reporting to Maintenance Supervisor
- To ensure the general hand is aware of his duties, processes and procedures within African Bush Camps organisation and to maintain standards throughout the lodge ensuring preventative maintenance schedules are being adhered to.
- Ensuring that all the assigned pools, main and surrounding areas are thoroughly cleaned.
- Ensuring that gardens are watered and well maintained
- Report on any breakages or losses within the lodge to the maintenance supervisor
- Perform all assigned daily duties.
- Disposal of refuse and waste.
- Communications maintained with the maintenance supervisor
Qualifications
- O’levels school certificate
- At least 2 years of proven experience in a similar role.
- Swimming Pool Cleaning Experience.
- In-depth knowledge of plants and gardening techniques.

9. Room Attendant
Job Description
Reporting to Housekeeping Supervisor
- Cleaning the villas as per style and standards policy and procedures
- Dusting shelves, furniture
- Replenishing amenities used by guests
- Making beds
- Reporting maintenance issues to the head house keeper.
- Any issues relating to guests to be reported to the head house keeper immediately
- Respect guests property and valuables at all times
- Ensure guests laundry is done and returned to the guest within the lodge standards timeline.
- Any issues pertaining to guests personal belongings needs to be reported immediately to the head house keeper
- Any breakages, missing items, damages must be reported within a timely fashion.
- Maintaining hygiene standards at all times i.e clean uniform daily, no body odour, neatly groomed etc
Qualifications
- O’levels school certificate
- Hotel management certificate or Diploma new graduate or at least one year training in housekeeping
- Good interpersonal skills

10. Laundry Attendant
Job Description
Reporting to Housekeeping Supervisor
As a Laundry Attendant, you are responsible for supporting laundry operations and providing pressing, sewing, and other similar services to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience. A Laundry Attendant will also be required to manage and respond to guest requests. Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Ensure support is provided to the laundry function when required
- Complete wash cycles, folding of linen and correct storage
- Manage guest requests in line with company brand standards and one call delivery deadline
- Greet guests in public areas and rooms in a warm and friendly manner
- Provide laundry, pressing, sewing, and other similar services to guests
- Ensure soiled and damaged linen is stored in soiled bags and disposed of correctly
- Maintain linen room- ensure linen shelves are stocked with the correct amount of each linen items for the next days usage
- Ensure chemicals are used and stored correctly
- Report maintenance and hazard issues
- Comply with lodge security, fire regulations and all health and safety regulations.
