Role purpose
Drive and grow the Seedcare business (Global/Local Key-Account (KA) and on-farm) in Southern Africa Business Area to meet the 2024 goals.
Dimensions
- Geographic Scope: Angola, Democratic Re-public of Congo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique (Southern Africa BA)
- Portfolio Scope: Seed treatments, Post-harvest products, Polymers, Inoculants
Accountabilities
- Develop and deploy the AME SC strategy in the BA for all Key-Accounts (KA) and for the on-farm downstream players. Syngenta Seeds to be excluded
- Define financial and market share targets with BA management and meet those targets annually
- Build KA strategies and KA plans for all external KA and manage daily relationships through use of SalesForce.com, including:
- Sales negotiations at local level (prices, terms of payment, quantities), in accordance with EAME pricing strategy
- Forecasts data input (with the forecast coordinator), using the forecasting tool. Provides all data needed for LE2, LE3.
- Coordinates claims handling with KA, and propose to the Business Manager for the final settlement.
- Develop differentiated and segmented commercial offers combining products, application and services (P-A-S), that allow market value creation and extraction
- Acquire and develop a constant intelligence survey for all competitors’ activities in the assigned area.
- Maintain a proper firewall between Seedcare and Syngenta Seeds to avoid conflicts of interest as per Seedcare Governance – the “Firewall”
- Work closely with AME Seedcare Technology Manager and AME Seedcare Marketing Product Lead to design and implement P-A-S offers
- Work closely with the BA Management Team to ensure alignment on current and future sales development
- Identify 3rd party in/out-licensing opportunities to support ambition delivery
- Contribute to AME GGP targets
Qualifications
Knowledge, experience & capabilities
Critical Knowledge
- In depth understanding of crop agronomy and pest control practices
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy or related field
- Sales qualification will be an added advantage
- Marketing, Products, Business, Syngenta processes including P&S, Sales, Development
- Understanding of market, channel need to ensure innovative GTM approaches
- Understanding of the seed industry, crop protection, Seedcare and on-farm activities
- Deep understanding of commercial and development concepts
- Command of the English language.
