HEAD TEACHER SECONDARY SCHOOL

PURPOSE:

The Head Teacher will be responsible for all the operations of the Secondary School ensuring that all resources are efficiently and effectively utilized as part of the Senior Management team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure that a high quality Secondary School Education is provided to the learners leading to successful admission into a tertiary institution.
• Prepare and maintain budgets.
• Maintain all stock and equipment and other learning tools for the School.
• Carry out efficient administration, ensuring that all school curriculum activities are carried out efficiently, targets are met on time and all correspondence carried out efficiently.
• Play a significant role in enrolment of pupils.
• Liaise with Ministry of Education and other learning institutions.
• Ensure that the grounds and buildings are well maintained.

SKILLS:

• Basic understanding of financial management principles and project management.
• Good strategy implementation and drive, problem solving and change management skills.
• Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
• Operates professionally and ethically.
• Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Full Grade 12 Certificate.
• Degree in Education.
• Knowledge and experience in Education and its delivery.
• Masters of Education in Arts or Science; MBA with Education or general MBA shall be an added advantage
• Minimum of 5 years of work experience as a Head Teacher or at Senior Management level of a School

• The applicant should not be older than 55 years.
