Job Purpose
The Group Sales and Marketing Manager will be responsible for the sales and marketing of all seed products in Zambia and other African regions; support distribution and logistics in conjunction with the operations manager while working closely with the CEO in building the regional operations and sales of the Group in the target markets.
Will be required to create and maintain long-term, trusting relationships with Corporate Clients. Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors. Work with other Senior Regional Managers from the Business/Commercial department in planning and overseeing new sales and marketing initiatives within Zambia and other African regions.
Summary of Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a portfolio of assigned customers, develop new business from existing clients and actively seek new sales opportunities.
- Developing and sustaining solid relationships with key clients that bring in the most income for the company.
- Work hand-in-hand with the CEO and Regional Heads to develop and implement effective tailor-designed sales and marketing plans
- Proactively lead a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, financial targets, and critical milestones
- Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters within Zambia and other African regions.
- Take the lead in performing product demonstrations at new and old client premises
- Prepare and present reports on account progress, goals, and forecasts for account teams and stakeholders.
- Developing a thorough understanding of key clients’ needs and requirements and preparing customized solutions.
- Develop goals for the development team and business growth and ensure they are met.
- Negotiating contracts with key clients and meeting established deadlines for the fulfilment of each client’s long-term goals.
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customer needs and objectives
- Collaborate with the sales team to identify and grow opportunities within the assigned territory/within Zambia and other African regions.
- Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Sales and Marketing or Business Administration or Related
- Masters in any of the above fields will be a plus
- Must have a minimum of 10-15 Years’ experience in the Seed, FMCG and telecommunications industry with 5 years at senior management level
- Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization
- Seed Regional Sales and Marketing experience will be an added advantage
- Experience delivering Client-Focused solutions to customer needs
- Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp attention to detail
- Must be a member of ZIM or EIZ.
