Job Title: Mechanic
Company Profile
Goods distribution and transportation company, located in Lusaka’s Mumbwa road industrial area.
Summary of Position
An experienced Mechanic responsible for vehicle/truck repairs and maintenance. To be based in Lusaka, with possible travel to other districts in the event of vehicle/truck breakdown.
Job Responsibilities
- Working with the Workshop Foreman in keeping record of all vehicle repairs
Carrying out fleet services - Conducting repairs
- Providing maintenance
- Performing test drives to check repairs
- Carrying out scheduled servicing and maintenance
- Installing and fitting new vehicle accessories
- Inspecting all vehicles and equipment at regular intervals
- Work with Workshop Foreman to ensure that service and inspections are properly documented and summarized
- Attend to break downs as necessary
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of a certificate in Mechanics
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in repairing Volvo and Scania trucks.
- Experience in mechanics and vehicle/trucks auto electronics
- Able to work on auto and manual gearboxes
- Experience with Pneumatic systems, engines and suspension
- Able to work under pressure
- Able to work outside scheduled working hours if needed
- Self-motivated with a willingness to take initiative and solve problems
- Capable of prioritizing and managing heavy workflow
- Minimum of 2 traceable references from previous employers
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned
