Description
- Maintenance and repair of air-conditioning system on all mobile equipment in an effective and efficient manner in compliance with the relevant safety and environmental requirements
- Equipment inspection and servicing of the air-conditioning system in a proactive maintenance and defect correction
- Diagnosis and repair of the air-conditioning system including the related electrical system
- Refrigerant gas evacuation and recharge during system maintenance and repair
- Perform piping connections on lines and valves and repair of evaporator and condenser cores through use of hand tools for tubes, brazing, soldering and oxy-acetylene heating
- Defining repair scope and parts requirement forecasting
- Completion of job cards and other documentation
- Compliance to the safety and environmental standards associated with handling and disposal of refrigerants
Requirements
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate
- Craft or Technician Certificate in Air-conditioning and Refrigeration
- Refrigerant Handling Certification as required by ZEMA
- Minimum 3 years work experience on surface mining equipment and other air-conditioning or refrigeration systems
