Human Rights Commission

The Human Rights Commission is a National Human Rights Institution established under Article 230 () of the Constitution of Zambia (Amendment) Act No. 2 of 2016 with a broad mandate of ensuring that the Bill of Rights is upheld and protected.

The Commission is hereby inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following positions.

JOB TITLE: INVESTIGATIONS OFFICER POSITIONS: TWO (2) SALARY GRADE: HRC/F STATION: SOLWEZI AND MANSA

THREE (3) MONTHS CONTRACT FROM OCTOBER 2022 TO DECEMBER 2022

Reporting to: Chief Investigations and Legal Services

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

  1. Candidates must be Zambians between 25 to 45 years
  2. Full Grade 12 Certificate
  3. Degree in any of the Social Sciences
  4. 3 years experience in investigations or human rights work
  5. Knowledge in human rights work will be an added advantage

Duties

i. Carrying out prompt, thorough and impartial investigations to ascertain the violation and or abuse of human rights

ii. Preparing and submiting timely and accurate investigation reports of human rights violation and abuse to facilitate speedy action and redress

iii. Ensuring and undertaking regular visits to detention and correctional facilities and other places of incarceration in order to ensure compliance with the United Nations Standard Minimum Rules for Treatment of Prisoners (Mandela Rules)

iv. Any other work incidental to or connected with the promotion and protection of human rights
