Job Summary
The Nutrition Field Coordinator will be responsible for organizing IMAM and MIYCN trainings for health workers and community health volunteers (CHVs), conducting regular monitoring visits to the assigned target health facility and identifying any issues arising during the delivery of IMAM treatment services. They will work with the Project Manager and Nalolo District Health Office (DHO) to ensure accurate data collection and reporting takes place. Nutrition Field Coordinator will directly report to Nutrition Project Manager.
Duties And Responsibilities
Project Implementation
Direct implementation of the project and its activities under the supervision of and guidance from the Nutrition Project Manager
Ensure a direct follow up to the UNICEF-funded Emergency nutrition project
Project Management
Coordinates and liaises with community leaders, MoH on health facility and district level, community health volunteers (CHVs) or any other relevant stakeholders
Responsible for supporting community outreach activities (mobilization, screening, data collection, community dialogue, CFRM)
Identify and address any issues arising during SAM and MAM treatment delivery (including referrals, admissions, treatment and follow-ups)
Conduct technical support to health staff and CHVs
Support data collection and audits
Monitor RUTF, HEPS and MUAC supply in health facilities
Support the pilot of Family MUAC and IMAM protocol for PLW in the allotted target facilities and their catchment areas
Capacity building
Support PM in organizing IMAM and MIYCN trainings for health staff and CHVs in the assigned target health facilities
Conducts monthly onsite mentorship and technical support for health personnel and CHVs in the assigned target facilities
Supervise IMAM program meetings at health facility level, including health staff and CHVs, to review data and cases and to plan for the next month
As required by PM, supports the development of IMAM protocol for PLW and related training modules and materials
Support and supervise the Family MUAC training of and roll out to the selected target communities
Stock management monitoring
Monitor if all health facilities have adequate RUTF, HEPS and MUAC tapes supplies to deliver uninterrupted OTP and TSFP services
Ensure that health facilities record stock intake and release into relevant documents (Stock control cards, Admissions forms, SAM and MAM registers) and conduct monthly stock inventories
Support MoH with stock delivery on a need basis following the MoH procedure protocol, including the use of delivery notes
Monitoring and evaluation
Regularly track IMAM data from community – health facility – District Health Office and ensures regular data collection and reporting of project indicators in the allocated target facilities takes place
Conduct at least monthly monitoring visits to each target health facility to monitor the environment of SAM and MAM treatment delivery
Monitor Family MUAC usage and results in target communities
Timely submit reports and data as requested by PM
Ensure a functional and responsive CFRM is in place in both health facilities and target communities
Project administration
Ensure that project documentation is properly generated, approved & archived in the internal databases – ELO, Sharepoint etc., according to PIN and donor guidelines
Generate regular video and photo documentation of the project implementation and store the media files on Canto
Support PM and Communications Officer in collection of information for communication and promotion purposes (Facebook, PIN webpage, newsletters etc.)

Logistics
Submit weekly transport requests to PM based on the work plan
Support PM in submitting purchase requests
As requested, support PM during procurement procedures

PERSON SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in public health, nutrition, environmental health, development or other relevant qualification
At least 1 year experience as a programs staff
Essential Work Experience And Knowledge
1 year experience in Nutrition programs
Excellent report-writing skills
Fluent in written and spoken English and able to communicate in Silozi or other local language
Ability to use MS Office
Experience in delivering engaging and interactive trainings to a varied audience
Ability to observe and to provide feedback on the activities
Ability to collect, analyze and report data
Commitment to and understanding of PIN’s aims, values and principles
Good communication and interpersonal skills
