8. ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT (1)

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To undertake effectively the processing of financial transactions and other bookkeeping activities in order to facilitate payments and preparation of books of accountants.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organise timely, budget inputs in order to facilitate the consolidation of budget estimates,
  • Undertake effectively, the processing of payments in order to honour obligations and agreements;
  • Undertake timely, the update of Books of Accounts in order to facilitate efficient storage and retrieval of information;
  • Undertake effectively the issuance of receipts in order to enhance accountability;
  • Undertake timely banking of revenue in order to safeguard public funds; and
  • Ensure timely, development of individual work plans in order to monitor and evaluate performance.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Full Form V/Grade 12 School Certificate with five (5) ‘O’Levels with credit or better, including Mathematics and English;
  • Licentiate Diploma in Accountancy/equivalent;
  • Membership to relevant professional body, and
  • Three years’ work experience required
