1. Human Resource Officer (2)
Purpose
The position incumbent will be responsible for providing direction of human resources operations and support across all employee types including faculty and non-faculty employees. This includes interpretation of University HR Policies, providing consultation and HR issues and concerns. The Human Resource Officer will work closely with the Senior Human Resource Officer
Summary of Job Responsibilities
- Maintain and regularly update employee information and submit reports periodically
- Operationalize policies on staff recruitment, training, wage structure, promotion and discipline.
- Plan, monitor and evaluate the implementation of performance management processes in the various departments and provide professional guidance in line with the UNILUS HRM Manual
- Participate in recruitment, selection, orientation and on-boarding of staff in line with the relevant legal requirements and the UNILUS Human Resource Manual
- Participate in strategic decision making aimed at development of the UNILUS strategic action plan.
- Participate in the formulation of departmental work plans and budget.
- Carry out staff training needs assessment, coordinate and evaluate staff leaming, training and development programs in line with the UNILUS HRM Manual.
- Ensure that payroll is timely and accurately managed
- Prepare staff status reports and reviews • Deal with employees’ grievances, disputes and disciplinary matters and ensure that justice is done,
- Maintain the University’s working culture.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management
- A Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management and for a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management is an added advantage.
- Minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience.
- Member of the Zambia Institute of Human Resource Management
