Core responsibilities
1. Determine, analyze and synthesize data
2. Maintain control charts and preparing bid specifications
3. Resolve engineering problems by collecting and analyzing information, researching and modifying engineering techniques and recommending solutions.
4. Prepare drawings, schematics and diagrams
5. Resolving design integration issues; developing specifications and safety standards
6. Preparing guidelines by describing operational and testing methods and procedures
7. Ensures operation of analytical equipment by calibrating equipment
8. Prepare engineering reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing data and trends
9. Entering data and generating reports and presentations; performing calculations
10. Provide advice, report on and control all commercial and financial aspects of projects and contracts.
11. Assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor in providing commercial expertise for projects to maximize returns by working within robust procedures to support the Project Manager.
12. Collect and analyze quotations, liaising with Contracts Managers and Site Agents regarding price and availability.
13. Collect payments and deliver invoices
14. Preparation of tender documents and submitting them.
15. Conducting site inspections to ensure proper and correct use of materials
16. Any other duties as may be assigned.
Qualifications
1. Degree in Building Science, Construction Management or Quantity Surveying
2. Full grade 12 certificate with credit or better in English and Mathematics
3. Three to five years’ experience in same or similar position (full knowledge of HVAC-R and Elevator/Lifts) an added advantage.
Skills
1. Must be computer literate (Ms word, excel, power point and internet)
2. AutoCAD knowledge and basic design skills
3. Good communication skills
