The Information Technology Support Specialist will provide direct technical assistance and support to ISTT staff for network, hardware, and software issues. Duties include installing and maintaining computer systems including software and hardware on desktops and laptops, meeting with staff to provide one-on-one technical assistance as needed/requested, providing training to staff on software and hardware use, determining causes of computer/software/network malfunctions through evaluation and testing and resolution via modifications, repair, or external support assistance.
Responsibilities
Analysing data to recommend improvements to existing systems or processes
Setting up new computers, networks, and software for new employees
Installing operating systems and other computer software applications on new computers
Coordinating with other departments to ensure that all technology is working properly for the company
Collecting, analysing, and storing data for use in reports
Supporting the maintenance of existing computer systems, including troubleshooting problems with hardware and software
Assisting with computer network security by scanning for vulnerabilities and viruses
Providing technical support for computer hardware, software issues and responding to user requests
Managing the website, MOODLE platform, and social media platforms
Requirements
Diploma in Information Technology
Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
Working knowledge of relevant operating systems, software, and programming
Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Keen attention to detail
Good organisation, time management and prioritisation
Efficient troubleshooting abilities
Effective communication skills, including speaking, writing and active listening
