Catalyst Foundation – SHE Project

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Location: Lusaka, Zambia

Start Date: March 2022 on 6 months probation , 1 year contract renewable upon performance review.

Who we are

SHE – part of the Catalyst Foundation is based in the United Kingdom  and our mission is to be recognized as a Global enabler of education and Gender Equality – offering tangible and sustainable impact to the girls that we work with in their communities. SHE collaboratively works with incredible  girls and their families, teachers, and local social services in rural communities, to break down the barriers that girls in particular face when accessing an education. At present, we support forty girls in total across ten schools and due to the impact that we are making, we plan to grow and support girls across the African continent.

We are seeking a Program Manager based in Zambia to manage our new project as SHE establishes an office and organizational presence in Zambia. The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring that the  project is  delivered within scope, on schedule, and within budget. You will develop and manage work plans, ensure spending is aligned with the project budget, liaise with project partners and other stakeholders, and draft progress reports.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a motivated, passionate individual who is willing to wear multiple hats and do what it takes to make our project succeed. The following attributes are a general overview, but we will consider individuals who do not meet all of the details below if you have the right skill set and attitude.

Basic requirements

Degree in Psychology, Social Science, Education  or Development Studies acceptable.

Experience in teaching, implementing development projects, especially on improving numeracy and literacy is an advantage.

Good understanding of numeracy and literacy issues and usage of learning assessment tools

Stakeholder and community engagement skills, multi-tasking, ability to meet deadlines, interpersonal, team player, and self-driven competencies are essential.

Strong project management skills required.

Superior analytical skills; ability to think logically and rationally about problems and solution oriented

Must be able to handle complex priorities, collaborate effectively with a team, be persistent and work under tight deadlines with minimal supervision

Excellent written and spoken English required

Work in humanitarian field especially gender programming projects.

Willingness to stay most of the time in the posted district and ability to speak the local language.

Clean Class C Driver’s licence.
