Projects Manager
The Project Manager supports the Group projects by ensuring that internal and external resources are effectively and efficiently deployed to ensure that the business gets the best value at all times through providing key advise in all aspects of project management, driving decision making, and tracking and monitoring progress as well as providing technical support in an effort to maximize results at all times.
Reporting directly to the Executive: Executive – Strategic Projects and Large Livestock, the Manager, Communications (or the Communications Manager) is responsible for delivery of all projects on time and within budget and scope
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the development of comprehensive project plans and tracking of progress.
- Responsible for the management of all aspects of project life cycle from the concept phase, through feasibility studies, detail design, execution, and commissioning.
- Managing of multi-disciplinary design teams and consultants.
- Financial management of projects, administration and reporting.
- Responsible for quality control during construction.
- Certifying of completed work, preparing valuations and cost reporting.
- Adjudicating and resolving contractual claims and matters.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
- Developing project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility.
- Responsible for ensuring timeous resource availability and allocation.
- Manage changes in the project scope, schedule and costs.
- Responsible for the measurement and communication of project performance.
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
- Ensure the performance of risk management to minimize project risks.
- Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.
- Keeping an update on compliance regulations.
- Reviews client’s specifications for adherence to capabilities and with guidance. Provides production alternatives when necessary.
- Responsible for the creation and updating of project scope for complex individual projects.
- Confirms all regulatory requirements & processes for all projects; e.g. regulators review cycles.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Project Management in large multi-disciplinary construction projects.
- Professional registration with EIZ or Quantity Surveying Body
