POULTRY VETERINARY TECHNICIAN.

DUTIES

• Plan & execute Poultry Farmer Trainings and Farm Visits.
• Manage Poultry NutriFarm Android App and Poultry Farmer Database.
• Plan and Execute vaccination/medication program for Farmers to ensure health of flock is in optimal condition.
• Help Farmers Adopt, implement and use Flock Management Plan (FMP)
• Ensure maximum operational and financial performance of farmers business by maximizing output with low mortality.
• Responsible for the daily round checking to identify Poultry health symptoms and execute action plan to prevent possible outbreak for the registered farmers.
• Work together with farm managers/supervisors to ensure strict biosecurity measures & enforce high standard of safety, cleanliness, hygiene and maintenance of the poultry houses and farm environment.
• Help Farmer through the NutriFarm App to Monitor and record feed and water condition to ensure birds are consuming water and feed that is free from bacteria/Pathogens.
• Assist in setup & enforcement of farm audit plan to ensure growth  of Enterprise.

SKILLS QUALITIES AND COMPETENCIES

• Full Grade 12 School Certificate or its equivalent, with credits or better in English and Mathematics.
• Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree, Veterinary Sciences, Animal Science, Animal Husbandry or any relevant equivalent certification from a reputable institute.
• Must be registered with Veterinary Association of Zambia (VAZ) with valid Practicing license and affiliated to Veterinary Council of Zambia (VCZ).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and management skills.
• Excellent Training, communication and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Experience as a practicing Veterinarian or Veterinary Assistant is an added advantage.
• Proficiency and Excellent IT skills, including a working knowledge of presentation software packages, preferably Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Public speaking skills is an extra added advantage

• Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.

• Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality.
• Love for farmers and scaling humanity is critical.
• Be ready and willing to travel extensively.
