Job Purpose
The Chief Information Officer will manage the IT Department ensuring the monitoring and maintenance of computer systems, networks, software and other information technology functions of the Branches and Head Office. Develop goals and strategies to ensure the IT department runs smoothly and effectively. Supervise the networks and computer systems in the company to ensure optimal performance.
Summary of Key Responsibilities;
Be accountable for managing the blending of technology with business practices through the installation and configuration of computer systems, diagnosis of hardware/software faults and solving of technical
and application problems.
Direct and establish IT-related projects.
Monitor changes in the technology sector to discover ways the Bank can improve and develop.
Provide strong day-to-day leadership to and manage overall IT-related activities
Initiate plans for recruitment, training and development of IT Department staff in accordance with the Bank’s requirements and make recommendations as appropriate to the Human Resources Manager;
Provide frequent End User Training
Oversee ICT Vendor Management
Provide guidance to team members as required for installation and configuration of computer hardware, operating systems and applications;
Oversee the team monitoring of networks and security maintenance;
Ensure performance regarding the security of servers, data and software;
Provide guidance to the IT team members through Managers as required in troubleshooting systems and network problems as well as diagnosis and solving of hardware and software faults;
Create and maintain documentation of systems and IT procedures;
Oversee the roll-out of new applications or major updates;
Oversee Management and maintenance of the domain, user accounts and user access;
Ensure that the IT internal control registers are properly completed;
Through Managers and ICT Specialists, Inform users of planned maintenance or problems;
Oversee Management and maintenance of networks, inverters/online UPS, computers, databases, printers and other IT equipment as required;
Plan and direct the implementation of new IT systems
Provide leadership to IT Managers, Specialists and other ICT staff within the Bank
Create and adapt technological platforms to improve the client experience.

Primary Areas of Accountability:
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor of Science Degree in ICT, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical fields.
A Master’s in any of the Above Technical Fields or an MBA will be a plus
Must have a minimum of at least 10 years post-qualifying experience in the Management of ICT
Systems and Administration at Senior Management either in Telecoms, Insurance or Commercial Bank (i.e. Chief ICT, Head of ICT or Senior Manager IT)
Knowledge and experience in the following areas: ICT Corporate Governance; ICT strategy development; Enterprise Architecture; ICT support
Ability to work autonomously;
Proven ability to interpret strategy and execute effectively
Must have Excellent Project Management skills
Must be a member of a Relevant Professional Body
