Key Outputs & Responsibilities
Job Purpose
To gather, analyze and consolidate business requirements for Bank projects, act as a conduit between business and the Bank to ensure business needs are translated into functional requirements specifications and manage/co-ordinate relevant phases of the development life-cycle.
1.] Business requirement gathering and functional specification construction
- Respond to a business need or issue and ensure thorough understanding thereof through workshops, stakeholder engagement and research to meet Strategic goals.
- Plan the analysis effort and approach to solve the key business issue / need
- Conceptualize a workable solution to address the business objective and define supporting processes, organizational structures, capabilities and relevant KPI’s and KRI’s
- Use influence to achieve stakeholder buy-in and alignment
2.] Management/co-ordination of relevant phases of the development life-cycle.
- Manage relevant phases of the development life-cycle (including, where appropriate,
design configuration, coding, testing, quality assurance, implementation, reporting and
support to ensure that the delivered products are fit for purpose. - Provide technical and business insights and support across all stages of the development life-cycle to support project implementation.
- Maintain open communication with internal stakeholders, cross-functional teams and
vendors to ensure solutions meet requirements - Provide input into the review of the technical and business aspects of supporting and
training documentation in order to ensure that products are embedded into the business adequately.
3.] Adherence to IT governance, risk & compliance standards.
- Maintain awareness of the control framework to manage risks
- Provide ad hoc reports in line with stakeholder requests to provide progress updates, develop reports and metrics as required to control risks.
4.] Stakeholder engagement
- Effective teamwork, self-management and alignment with Banks’ values to maintain
buy-in and support - Monitor outsourced partners’ adherence to SLA requirements as required to ensure
timelines and risks are managed
Qualifications & Experience
- Grade 12 School Certificate with 5 credits including English and Mathematics
- Degree in Computer Science or any relevant IT and/or business degree.
- Experience with Agile Project Management (Kanban or Scrum) and Project Management tools like Jira and Microsoft Project
- 3+ Business and IT experience
- Sounding understanding of Business Architecture and Enterprise Architecture.
- A Project Management Certification (PRINCE2, PMP etc.) will be an added advantage
