Car Sales Manager Duties and Responsibilities

  • Recruit, hire, train, and oversee a team of automotive salespeople.
  • Set sales goals, track progress, and lead the team to achieve and exceed those quotas.
  • Coach salespeople on best practices for closing more vehicle deals and provide advice and guidance to improve sales performance.
  • Forecast sales for upcoming months and quarters.
  • Step in to answer customer questions and issues when required.
  • Coordinate and lead all regular sales meetings with the sales staff.
  • Develop and manage a CRM platform to retain customers and seek out new prospective sales.
  • Maintain a strong focus on the satisfaction of all customers.
  • Compile regular reports for dealership management to review.
  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of their dealership’s car sales department.
  • Ensuring that the dealership has a steady flow of customers looking to purchase new or used cars.
  • Meeting with potential clients and negotiating deals.
  • Work closely with other departments within the dealership to ensure that everything is running smoothly. This might include working with finance managers to secure financing options for clients, coordinating with service technicians to schedule appointments, etc.
  • Establishing new accounts with other businesses that provide services for cars such as insurance companies or leasing firms.
  • Reviewing current customer records and contacting previous customers to encourage repeat business.
  • Preparing budgets for advertising campaigns and setting goals for increasing sales.
  • Reviewing information about new models and styles of vehicles to help determine which models will be most profitable.
  • Conducting test drives with potential buyers and explaining vehicle features to help them decide whether they want to purchase a car.
  • Helping potential buyers choose a vehicle that fits their needs and budget and assisting them with financing options.
  • Providing customer service by answering questions about financing options and warranties offered by the dealership.
  • Forecast and track annual, quarterly, and monthly car sales to maximize gross profits.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction in all auto sales to increase retention and referrals to drive repeat car sales.
  • Oversee all day-to-day activities within the automotive dealership with a focus on high employee and customer morale.

Qualifications:

Must have working experience in a related industry
