Business Development Officer Abaleya Carpooling Limited

Abaleya Carpooling Limited is an online marketplace that connects drivers and passengers planning on traveling between cities/towns and are willing to share the cost of travel. Our mission is to reduce on carbon emissions, reduce traffic congestion and make inter-city/town traveling affordable and fun. The preferred candidate should be a resilient, empathic business development executive to contribute to the growth of the company. As a business development officer, you are responsible for finding and retaining clients, closing sales deals, retain existing clients, and remaining abreast of changes in performance and market trends. To be successful in this role, you will need to be an inspired self-starter, result oriented and able to drive sales growth. Ultimately, as top-notch Business Development Officer, you should be able to build rapport with customers, close sales and ensure compliance with all statutory marketing obligations and regulations.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Familiarizing with all products and services offered by the company.
  • Develop and execute growth plans to meet and exceed monthly and quarterly growth targets.
  • Ensure that thorough market research and feasibility studies are conducted in respect to new and existing business opportunities/new investments.
  • Developing and implementing operational systems and strategies related to; Stakeholder Management, Financial Management and Risk Management.
  • Attending networking activities to research and connect with prospective clients.
  • Maintaining meaningful relationships with existing clients to ensure that they are retained.
  • Ensuring that clients’ needs are properly defined – understood and are met.
  • Evaluate employee performance in regards to marketing and branding and provide appropriate feedback to employees and Management for decision making purposes.
  • Suggesting upgrades or added products and services that may be of interest to clients.
  • Crafting business proposals and contracts to draw in more revenue from clients.
  • Reviewing clients’ feedback and implementing necessary changes.
  • Ensuring clients complaints are resolved within 16 working hours.
  • Remaining in tune with trends in the market to ensure that our offerings remain relevant.
  • Communicate with target audiences, build and develop customer relationships.
  • Formulate  and conduct marketing plans, advertising, direct marketing and promotions/campaigns.
  • Organize and oversee advertising/communication campaigns (on social media, TV etc.), exhibitions and promotional events.
  • Consolidates corporate plans and ensures timely preparation and submission of budgets to the senior management for approval.
  • Review the company’s marketing and branding performance against set targets/objectives and advises the senior management of any performance drifts and remedial measures.
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned by senior management.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Grade 12 School Certificate or its Equivalent.
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Strategic
  • Management, Entrepreneurship Management or other relevant field
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications and social media platforms.
  •    Ability to build productive business professional relationships.
  • Highly motivated and target driven with a proven track record in sales.
  • Excellent selling, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Attitudinal commitment and team player.
  • Outstanding analytical, problem-solving abilities and decision making skills.
  • High integrity and ethical attributes.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • Mature, sober, detail oriented and visionary leadership.
  • Knowledge in Finance and Accounting will be an added advantage.
  • At least one (1) year relevant practical experience in strategic business development, sales or marketing in a reputable organization.
  • Membership of any relevant professional association is an added advantage.
  • Preferred candidate must be aged between 22 to 29 years old.

WORKING HOURS

  • You shall work from 8: AM – 5: PM, six days a week though you may occasionally have to work longer hours to meet project deadlines and other Company assignments
  • Clean valid driving license with at least three years driving experience is an added advantage.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

  • The job holder reports to the senior management.
  • The successful job holder will provide supervisory and managerial leadership to a diversified staff and project teams across the business divisions
