Profile
Yara Fertilizer Zambia Limited is looking to fill the permanent position of a Finance Clerk in Lusaka, Zambia to report to the Financial Controller; Zambia Cluster (Zambia, Mozambique, Malawi).

Responsibilities
Vendors
Monthly Vendor payment resolution and reconciliation.
Weekly Intercompany reconciliations and reporting.
Vendor remittances after weekly payments.
Scanning and record of Proof of Deliveries to effect clearing of payments.
Assist with posting Vendor Invoices.
Assist with weekly clearing of manual payments on vendor accounts.
General Ledger
Monthly reconciliation of each balance sheet account with supporting documents.
Assist with month end journals.
Monthly clearing of control accounts in SAP.
Cash and Bank
Posting Petty Cash Transactions on SAP.
Prepare and request for payment requisitions for urgent manual payments.
Other
Assist with the collecting and forwarding items for annual Accounting Firm audits.
Assist with year-end verification of fixed assets.
Review weekly sales reports, identify negative margins and obtain commentary from the relevant Commercial Manager.
Weekly review of input VAT account for invoices with incorrect VAT charges and action reversal of invoices where VAT is incorrectly charged.
Participate and contribute to weekly workflow meetings.
Assist with financial tasks as required by the Chief Financial Officer or Financial Controller.
Functional Knowledge
Good understanding of the procedure to pay process
Understanding of the business impact of non-payment of vendors
Good knowledge of Withholding tax, VAT and corporate tax.
Microsoft Office software, email, internet etc.
Exposure to and knowledge of SAP an advantage.

Qualifications and Experience
Completion of Secondary School
Minimum of 2 years work experience in a similar position
