Human Resource Intern Biocarbon Partners

BCP is a leading African conservation company which aims to generate sustainable conservation finance through the forest carbon markets.  We are working with Community and Government partners to help improve the conservation management over 1 million hectares of globally significant wildlife habitats in Zambia, and to benefit 225,000 people.   Most of the project areas are located in Game Management Areas bordering strategic National Parks in Eastern and Lusaka Province, governed by management agreements between local communities, the Government of Zambia, and BCP.

BCP is recruiting for Human Resource Intern position for Lusaka x 1. The HR Intern will assist the Human Resources Department in the day-to-day HR administration. The internship will provide learning opportunities for a candidate who is interested in learning HR within BCP. The position will report to the Senior Human Resources Officer (SHRO).

PRIORITIES THAT WE’LL TRUST YOU WITH.

  • Updating both physical and electronic filing systems.
  • Conduct an employee file audit in line with prescribed guidelines.
  • Audit all Staff files both electronic and physical to see what is missing on the files.
  • Come up with an action plan to ensure missing documents are placed on file.
  • File all missing documents both electronic and hard copy.
  • Screen resumes and application forms in smart recruiters.
  • Schedule and confirm interviews with candidates.
  • Attend to HR staff queries.
  • Assist SHRO in processing staff benefits.
  • Assist SHRO in maintaining and updating staff information systems.
  • Prepare HR-related reports as needed.
  • Prepare job descriptions for employees and drafting of job adverts.
  • General HR Administration.
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Senior Human Resource Officer or any other delegations from senior members of staff.

ALLIANCE BUILDERS WANTED.

  • Postgraduate Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management / Social Work / Business Administration, and should have graduated recently.
  • Computer skills desirable.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Proactivity and analytical skills.
  • Fast Learner and willing to learn.

Other Skills:

  • Proven experience as an HR Assistant, Staff Assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position.
  • Fast computer typing skills (MS Office, in particular).
  • Basic knowledge of the Zambian labor laws.
  • Passion and commitment for BCPs mission.
  • Registered member with ZIHRM.
