Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed and passionate employee for the position of Carpenter to join the versatile Maintenance Team.
Reporting to the Maintenance Facilities Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance regularly and routinely on building infrastructure to reduce the chances of buildings failure and unplanned breakdowns.
Your duties will include but not limited to the following:
- Installing wooden structures such as roofing frames, rafters, partitions, joists and stud work.
- Installation of ceiling boards such as Ceiling tiles, ceiling boards etc.
- Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation.
- Adding (Installing) fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures.
- General carpentry modifications and repair works on buildings and office furniture.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Certificate in carpentry & joinery
- Good communication skills
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Carpentry and joinery.
- Computer literate
- Creativity and design skills
- Experience of using hand and power tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, saws and nail guns
- Joinery or cabinet-making skills
- Knowledge of building regulations.
- Must have Valid Zambian driving license.
