VACANCY ADVERTISEMENT: DRAUGHTS – PERSON
Lumwana Mining Company is seeking to recruit a highly committed and passionate employee for the position of Draughts – Person to join the versatile Process Maintenance Team.
Reporting to the Engineer – Reliability, you will be responsible for assisting in establishing and maintaining a drawing office that services all maintenance staff site wide. Providing an efficient and effective in-house drafting service for key stakeholders is paramount.
Your duties will include but not limited to the following:
- In collaboration with the Engineer – Reliability, you will be responsible for management of work priorities daily and ensuring the activities are undertaken in accordance with the business needs.
- Maintain register of current drawing backlog and expected completion dates.
- Review and update mechanical, structural, electrical, and civil drawings.
- Manage departmental records which are in the form of manuals, drawings, and other literature.
- Maintain all drafting equipment.
- Create general arrangements and detailed drawings for fabrication and construction after consultation with electrical, mechanical, and civil disciplines.
- Responsible for all design and detailing of mechanical and civil structures.
- Must be familiar with safe working practices.
To be considered for the position, you must meet the following requirements:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Equivalent
- Certificate in Drafting.
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- Member of the Engineering Institution of Zambia.
- Minimum (5+) years extensive experience in drafting heavy industry, associated infrastructure preferably in the mining industry or a mineral processing industry role.
- Proficient in Microsoft office suite application.
- Must have a good understanding of mechanical, civil, and electrical drafting standards.
- Competent in AutoCAD/ Solid Works or similar works.
- Create fabrication drawings for the Fabrication Workshop either manually of using software
- Experience in Document Control
- Able to read, understand and reference maintenance manuals.
- Must have a valid Zambian driver’s license.
- Be physically fit and be able to pass a pre-employment medical examination.
