Lead – Interconnect & Roaming Airtel

Airtel Networks Zambia Plc seeks to recruit a Lead – Interconnect & Roaming to develop and manage both pre-paid & post-paid Roaming services with regards to coverage, pricing and processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Identify Roaming agreement gaps to increase the roaming agreement coverage.
• Coordinate with the Networks team for Quarterly Test and Launch Planning.
• Drive commercially efficient and quality focused carrier relationships and management.
• Provide oversight on the management of all Roaming test SIM cards, with support from the Revenue Assurance and Fraud management team.
• Liaise with Networks and Billing teams to ensure effective Roaming testing and rates as per roaming agreements to ensure the achievement of reliable and efficient roaming services.
• Design, manage and analyse programs and offers to create stickiness of the base to the various Roaming services and hence build loyalty.
• Design plans and programs for increasing penetration and hence the usage of the international traffic to drive increased International Calling usage and revenues.
• Lead in the support of Enterprise Business, Customer Service, and other customer touch points in managing customer matters related to Roaming and International services.
• Supervision and management of Direct or indirect staff to achieve maximum employee engagement.

REQUIREMENTS

Educational Qualifications & Functional / Technical Skills:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in a Commercial or Technical Field.
• Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) fundamentals knowledge.
• Good understanding of GSM architecture with bias toward Roaming technical and billing platforms.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Offices Application packages especially Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.

Relevant Experience:

• 5+ Years working experience in a similar role.
• Good knowledge of Roaming business and function.
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in a billing, accounting or audit function with focus on systems/accounting controls and audit.
• Good knowledge of Roaming business and function.
• Good understanding of International Roaming Expert Group (IREG) and Transferred Account Data Interchange Group (TADIG) principles as it relates to the Roaming function are required.
• Strong commercial experience and analytical capacity is expected.
