Job Summary
Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer –the role of the Head of Corporate Business will be to build and maintain a high performance & efficient Corporate Business Development channel.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
Developing and executing a clear strategy for the optimum performance of the corporate business portfolio with a key focus on acquisition & retention of clients.
Establishing and strengthening relationships with key decision makers in Corporates, Banks, Brokers and Affinity Channels
Monitoring client preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts for both new and organic growths.
Identifying new leads and potential new markets through researching and networking.
Negotiating and making decisions on quotations with Brokers and Clients.
Collaborating with internal & external stakeholders to develop market –relevant products.
Assisting the human resources team in the recruitment and deployment of Corporate Business Development & Operations staff to create an effective and efficient Operations.
Formulating and implementing policies and strategies to improve productivity and efficiency levels within the department.
Continuous evaluation and improvement of existing processes to meet systems, regulatory, strategic & client’s requirements.
Provide leadership through effective communication of vision, active coaching and development while comparing operational results to goals and taking appropriate action to correct when necessary.
Prepare and present appropriate management information reports for the CCO required from time to time.
Responsible to guide and ensure Operational and IT Strategy is embedded in decision making and Business strategy.
Establish an appropriate Group Risk Governance and compliance framework and ensure that operations perform within it.
Establish effective relationships and collaborations with other departments like Marketing, finance, Customer Services etc. to address key business issues and opportunities.
Attend meetings, seminars, and conferences as appropriate.
Any other duties as assigned.
Minimum qualifications and experience
Grade 12 (or equivalent)
1st Degree in Business Related Field with MBA being an added advantage.
Strategic & Analytical Skills
Eloquent, confident and articulate
Self-motivated, diligent and results oriented
High level of integrity, self-discipline with a strong bias towards execution.
Outstanding relationship management, interpersonal written and oral communications.
5 Years Supervisory or Managerial role in Corporate Business Sales & Management.
