The University is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified individual for the position of “Quality Assurance Manager”
Job Purpose:
To provide management of quality assurance systems and procedures across the University; ensuring compliance with University and external quality assurance regulations and requirements. To provide analysis, briefings, reports and detailed plans for internal reviews and support and assist in the coordination of external reviews and inspections. To provide specialist advice and guidance to departments across the University, collaborative partner organisations and students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. To manage the University’s quality assurance systems, ensuring that relevant regulations, policies and codes of practice are kept under review and updated in accordance with the wishes of the University and to conform to the standard external regulatory guidelines.
2. To co-ordinate the planning and management of internal reviews and support and assist in the coordination of external reviews and inspections; working closely with the Registrar and other relevant stakeholders to co-ordinate effective data capture and validation procedures for the production of annual monitoring documentation.
3. To co-ordinate and provide specialist support for the design and development of new programmes, and modules, including collaborative provision, working closely with and providing detailed advice and guidance to programme and module developers, including quality assurance induction briefings to staff.
4. To provide detailed analysis in relation to feedback from internal reviews, external examiner report profiling, Academic Misconduct, Extenuating Circumstances and Academic Appeals.
5. To manage the procedures for the nomination and appointment of external examiners and consideration of and response to external examiner reports.
6. To undertake process reviews and audits, supporting the design, development and implementation of quality assurance management systems and standard operating procedures across the University.
7. To support and advise Academic and Professional Support in relation to quality assurance and enhancement matters. To include advice on the impact of new developments in relation to external regulatory and reporting requirements and amendments to internal quality processes and procedures.
8. To provide advice and support to Boards of Examiners in relation to the University regulatory framework.
9. To undertake any appropriate training which may be required to enhance performance in relation to the duties of the position, attend staff development sessions and participate in an annual appraisal process.
Educational Qualifications:
- Master’s degree with relevant specialization
- Ph.D. in any field but preferably Educational Administration will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience in university administration or in corporate management.
