JOB VACANCY: ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
The National Technology Business Centre (NTBC) is a Statutory Body established by the Science and Technology Act No. 26 of 1997 and Statutory Instrument No. 136 of 1999, both of which are found in the National Science and Technology policy of 1996. NTBC is managed by a Board of Directors drawn from various sectors and industry. The Centre’s main objective is to ensure the promotion, marketing, and transfer of proven and sustainable technologies to entrepreneurs in order to maximize their utilization and contribute to sustainable national industrial development.
NTBC is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced Zambian Citizen for the position of Enterprise Development Specialist.
NATURE OF EMPLOYMENT
Permanent and Pensionable.
JOB PURPOSE
To undertake the financial analysis of Commercialization and Technology Transfer proposals in order to ensure the transformation of technologies into financially viable ventures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the business incubation programs to facilitate the development of sustainable enterprises.
- Collaborate with stakeholders in the provision of business development support services to innovative entrepreneurs to ensure their sustainability.
- Provide timely advisory services to clients on preparation of business plans in order to facilitate the commercialization of technologies.
- Technical evaluation of innovations and inventions.
- Prepare project Proposals for National Technology Business Center (NTBC) to support innovative entrepreneurs.
- Facilitate the implementation of Technology Business Development Fund.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Full Grade 12, with at least five credits, which must include Mathematics and English.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Economics from recognized institutions.
- At least 5 years’ work experience in a similar position.
- Masters in either Business Administration or Economics will be an added advantage.
