Control Room Operator (02)

Essential Duties

• Monitor and operate the CCTV cameras and associated equipment in the Control Room
• Receive and respond to all alarm’s intrusions including panic alarms from various sites
• Follow protocols for maintaining the security of the Control Room and its facilities
• Operate a range of remote call monitoring, alarms and communication facilities contained within the Control Room
• Report any incidents that occur immediately by following the SOPs for the particular site.
• Monitor fleet management and Guard deployment using the relevant systems in the control room
• Maintain accurate records of data recordings and events, using incident reporting software or the Occurrence book
• Participate in personal training and development in order to maintain an understanding of current CCTV legislation and regulatio
• Provide recorded media to authorized personnel
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of the Service and Control room working practices
• Provide assistance in displaying and exhibiting the Control room services to interested parties
• At all times the post holder must maintain and respect the security and sensitivity of the service
• Comply with the adopted Code of Practice and service operational procedures at all times, breaches of which will result in disciplinary action being taken.
• Make sure that coverage is done properly.
• Any other duties which are equal or similar to the responsibility level and the grade of the post which may be assigned to the post holder.

Job requirements

• At least two (2) years’ experience as a Control Room Operator or equivalent position
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities
• Team player, personable and a winning attitude
• Ability to organize, prioritize and produce results
• G12 Certificate
• Diploma in Information Technology or its equivalent
