Job Title: Fundraising Officer
Location: Lusaka, Zambia

Job Description:
The Fundraising Manager is responsible for developing and executing fundraising strategies to support the organization’s mission. This includes identifying and cultivating donors, researching, and applying for grants, and managing all aspects of the fundraising process. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in fundraising, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement effective fundraising strategies to secure grants and donations in line with the organization’s objectives.
2. Identify and research potential funding sources, including foundations, corporations, government agencies, and individuals.
3. Prepare compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and other fundraising materials to effectively communicate the organization’s programs and impact.
4. Build and maintain relationships with current and prospective donors, cultivating long-term partnerships and stewardship.
5. Collaborate with the program and finance teams to develop accurate budgets and financial reports for grant applications.
6. Monitor and track grant and fundraising activities, ensuring compliance with grant requirements and reporting deadlines.
7. Stay updated on trends and best practices in fundraising, grant writing, and donor engagement.
8. Organize fundraising events and campaigns to engage the community and raise awareness and support for the organization.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field
2. 3+ years of experience in fundraising, preferably in the non-profit sector
3. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
4. Excellent written and verbal presentation skills
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Strong organizational and time management skills
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
