Job Description
New Business Recruitment 50%
Recruit new customers in target markets with the right level of contribution to Absa.
Proactively develop business relationships with local companies.
Identify cross sale opportunities and introduction of leads to local corporate teams.
Installation of point of sale terminals and provision of on the ground training at customer premises.
Problem resolution for customers in relation to point of sale terminals.
Fully understand the workings of Absa card including pricing and risk policies
Revenue growth through driving transaction volumes.
Monitoring of Merchant activities /transactions and ensure that complaints / queries are resolved within SLA.
Analyze market dynamics and intelligence, changes and competition to make the agent business ahead of the competition with relevant solutions.
Monitor availability and reliability of the systems for seamless Merchant transactions. Escalate downtime issues to support teams promptly.
Supervise the sales and support teams and ensures SLAs are met.
Promote brand visibility through marketing and communication.
Responsible for managing Platinum merchants
Responsible for managing and responding to customer requirements.
Build & maintain relationships with customers to develop and protect business income.
Negotiate pricing and contracts with customers at senior management or director level.
Develop a deep understanding of the needs and requirements of customers’ businesses.

Customer Relationship Management 30%
Role holder is responsible for managing and responding to customer requirements.
Build & maintain relationships with customers to develop and protect business income.
Negotiate pricing and contracts with customers at senior management or director level.
Develop a deep understanding of the needs and requirements of customers’ businesses.
Problem resolution for customers in relation to point of sale terminals.
Planning and Research 10%
Responsible for developing a personal sales plan to achieve targeted objectives and goals.
Personal time management of day to day activities to maximise return on resources.
Keeping fully updated on customer activities reported in the media and internal sources.
Maintain and understand the business environment in which the customer operates.
Risk & Control 10%
Constantly update knowledge on all products and services offered by Barclaycard.
Support team members through sharing of best practices and ideas, and coaching.
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Absa Operational Risk Framework and internal Absa Policies and Standards.

Essential
Full and extensive knowledge of Barclaycard acquiring products and services.
Working knowledge of acquiring industry dynamics, interchange, payment process, etc.

Knowledge of the Business to Business sector.
Working knowledge & practical understanding of local regulations applicable to acquiring.
Preferred
Knowledge of relevant third party suppliers (e.g. technology)
An up to date knowledge of industry related developments
Education
Higher Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
