We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Valuer to join our team. As the Principal Valuer, you will play a critical role in our organization by providing accurate and reliable valuations.
Job Purpose:
Determining the market value of motor vehicles by using valuation inspection and assessment standards of all motor vehicle models.
Main Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough and accurate valuations of motor vehicles and proper determination of their market value within specified timelines.
- Utilize industry-standard valuation techniques, market analysis, and financial models to determine the fair value of assets.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, economic indicators, and regulatory changes to ensure valuations are in compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriters, actuaries, and investment managers, to gather necessary information for valuations.
- Prepare detailed valuation reports, including methodologies, assumptions, and supporting documentation.
- Provide expert advice and guidance on valuation matters to internal stakeholders, including senior management and other departments.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging trends, and technological advancements related to valuations and insurance.
- Determine vehicle roadworthiness.
- Diagnose and advise on problems relating to mechanical, electrical, and body repairs.
- Update daily register of all vehicles valued.
- Give regular advice on changes within the automotive industry.
- Assist in dispute resolution on valuations.
- Any other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
Academic and Professional Requirements:
- Grade 12 Certificate.
- Certificate/Diploma/ Degree in any field relatable to Vatuation and Assessment (Auto-mechanics engineering will be an added advantage)
- Registered members of a Valuers and Assessors institute will be an added advantage.
- Must be Up to date with current market trends and prices of motor vehicles
- Must have basic Knowledge of the three main formulae used in the Valuation of Motor Vehicles
- Must have at least 5-year work experience as a valuer and assessment industry.
- Must possess a clean driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience (both Manual and automatic transmissions preferably)
- Should be in good physical and mental health.
- Should not have a significant record of dishonest or fraudulent conduct.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make sound judgments.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with internal stakeholders and present valuation findings.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
