The Zambia Institute of Mass Communication (ZAMCOM) was established under the ZAMCOM Act of Parliament of 1996 to provide Communications and Media training and production services. ZAMCOM has recently been undergoing a corporate renewal and is currently implementing a new strategic plan aiming at positioning the organization to becoming financially viable and independent.
ZAMCOM is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill in the following position;
RADIO TECHNICIAN
JOB PROFILE
To Set up, operate, and maintain the electronic equipment used to transmit radio signals. Control audio equipment and regulate volume level and quality of sound during radio broadcasts.
MAIN DUTIES
Operate all equipment, such as audio mixing consoles, media control systems, oscilloscopes, frequency analyzers, and satellite receivers, used to broadcast radio programmes
Maintain equipment to ensure that it functions properly
Quickly and effectively troubleshoot problems with transmission
Conduct functional and operational testing procedures to ensure quality performance of broadcast products including radio programmes
Work with engineers to test and integrate new systems.
Use computer software to edit audio recordings
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
Full grade Twelve Certificate
Diploma in Audio Engineering
Degree will be an added advantage
Minimum of five (5) years’ work experience
