Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that company, contractor and individual property is protected and to prevent unauthorized entry into Mopani premises.

The Responsibilities of this role will include but not limited to the following:

1. Protecting Company, Contractor and individual property.
2. Coordinating all security inquiries activities and communicate effectively to the relevant authorities on all matters related to crime, disciplinary and emergencies reported to security enquiries.
3. Ensuring that all records and registers at security inquiries are updated, kept properly and secured.
4. Ensuring that only authorized persons enter the plant and work areas.
5. Giving guidance to visitors on company rules and regulations whilst on company premises.
6. Conducting mandatory alcohol test to all MCM employees, contractor employees and visitors at all entry points for Mopani premises.
7. Ensuring that alcohol procedures are compiled with for any person found with positive alcohol reading.
8. Ensuring that all cases of narcotic substances and drug use are reported immediately and the employees/persons affected denied access to Company Premises.
9. Ensuring that all private property that requires declaration should be done at entry point through a declaration of private property form.
10. Ensuring that all drivers whose vehicles are being searched switch off the engine and disembark from the vehicle.
11. Reporting immediately all incidents that occur during the shift to MCM security Radio Control room, Security inquiries or the shift office.
12. Enforcing adherence of all health requirements to persons entering and working in Company premises as instructed by Management.
13. Ensuring all persons leaving the Mopani premises are subjected to a mandatory search with the exception of Management Committee (MANCO) members. The search should be done with respect and dignity.

To be considered for this position, the candidate should meet the following minimum requirements:

1. Grade 12 Certificate.
2. Must be between the age of 18 and 40 years.
3. Additional qualification will be an added advantage.

The successful candidate must be result oriented and have the ability to work with own initiative, ability to understand scope of work, paying particular attention to Company policies and Corporate objectives.
