Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (ZANACO) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Operations Division under Consumer Operations Department located in either Lusaka or Ndola Cash Center.

Description

JOB PURPOSE 

Assist the Cash Centre Manager to effectively manage processes, controls, resources and all operational activities of the Cash including security and physical infrastructure of the building in line with Bank policy and Strategy.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Branch Operations

  • To ensure actioning of cash orders from the Branches.
  • To coordinate cash orders from the Branches and make day’s summaries for fulfilment by the vendor CPC
  • Make Cash Centre cash projections for the following day
  • To timely post vault transactions from the Branches
  • To timely post vault transactions from the Branches
  • Monitor workflow on the system to ensure transactions pending, Assigned, Unassigned are cleared to facilitate the running of EODM successfully. Clear all assigned and pending transactions in work flow before 17: 00 hours daily according to the time the transaction was assigned.
  • To check that branch systems are operational and report any failures to IT helpdesk for quick resolution.
  • To ensure cash assets are properly secured, limits observed for both Cash Centre and CPC, reconciled daily, differences reported daily and that dual control is observed at all times.
  • To Coordinate cash requirements were necessary with the Central Bank
  • To originate letters of notice for cash withdrawals and deposits at the Central Bank
  • To seek appropriate Treasury Department authorizations before informing the Central Bank of any cash deposits/withdrawals
  • To perform Call over of all Cash Centre transactions
  • To file vault transactions vouchers appropriately
  • To ensure that vault balances before knocking off for the day
  • To perform vendor reconciliation of the CPC balances everyday
  • Coordinate forex orders and repatriations for the Branches
  • Ensure forex is balanced every day before knocking off for the day
  • To ensure all cash being shipped out to BOZ/Branches/CPC is thoroughly checked and balancing without attracting any penalties
  • To coordinate forex repatriations and importations
  • To conduct and review snap check findings on the vault and the CPC
  • To raise incident reports in the Cash Centre and ensure they are conclusively timely addressed and closed.
  • To ensure that they comply with all policies and procedures required by the Bank including operational risk and control procedures with regards management of the vault.
  • To ensure cash assets are properly secured, vault limits observed.
  • To ensure that all returns are submitted to stakeholders as per agreed timelines.
  • To ensure daily call over of vouchers and meticulous record keeping system is in place in accordance with Bank procedures and to make such documents/ records available for review or control purposes when required.
  • To ensure proper management of Suspense and GL Accounts so that reconciliations are done timely and entries to GL accounts are duly authorized and posted correctly.
  • To ensure Cash Centre Risk Control assessments are updated monthly and return provided to Risk/Compliance.
  • To deputize for Cash Centre Manager, as maybe required.
  • Perform any other duties as may be delegated by the Cash Centre Manager

 

Customer Service 

 

  • To interact with the CPC vendor in order to enhance Corporate Customers’ experience with us.
  • To monitor Corporate customer transactions postings and make sure that errors are detected and corrected in good time
  • To ensure constant engagement with the CPC vendor for service improvements.
  • To ensure CIT waiting time is less than 15minutes.
  • To ensure timely reconciliation of the CPC account in order to enhance

  Sales

  • To agree on annual performance objectives with the Cash Centre Manager.
  • To pursue continued improvement in personal development by participating in development programmes and training.
  • Participate in desirable and effective team culture at the cash centre.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

Education:

  • University Degree in Business related area
  • At least five (5) years banking experience.
  • Understanding of relevant legislation e.g. Anti – Money laundering, Banking code.
  • Understanding of people policies and processes
  • Demonstrated complaint handling and resolution skills
