Essential functions:
NTCP is seeking a Finance and Administration Assistant to support the Project Accountant with dayto-day, weekly, and monthly accounting and controlling tasks for all NTCP departments. Since field operations is a large and key area of our work, this role will include procurement, stock control and workforce management for NTCP’s vehicle maintenance workshop and infrastructure. Ultimately, you will help our accounting department run smoothly, ensuring transparency and efficiency in all transactions.
Responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for the following, please note your competencies will be tested and you should be able to demonstrate experience in:
Finance – Strong bookkeeping skills, understanding of the financial cycle, and cash basis accounting. Ability to demonstrate skills in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word), and digital financial tools.
Procurement and logistics – Procurement skills, ability to follow procurement policies, select preferred suppliers, and manage the movement and reception of goods.
Fleet and Stock Management – Fleet monitoring, including spares orders, service logs, fuel management, and associated bookkeeping. Maintenance of a general asset register. Stock control and management.
Workforce Management – Experience in hands-on Human Resource management – both day-to-day and monthly record keeping.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE: Required:
- An internationally recognised professional accounting or book keeping qualification
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in accounting or auditing with stock/ inventory focus • High level of competency in MS Excel and Word and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks and SAAP)
- Proven knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures and familiarity with finance regulations
- Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
- Strong organization skills.
- Ability to appropriately handle confidential information.
- Able to work effectively and communicate with non-financially trained professionals
- Willingness to work outdoors and convey positive attitude during challenging conditions- rain, heat, cold, frustration, tedium, and other various forms of discomfort
- Comfortable working in the presence of wildlife- large herbivores, snakes, insects
Beneficial:
- Experience in workshop or fleet/vehicle management
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- This position includes occasions when working in natural environments and employee may receive insect bites, scratches, bruises, blisters, thorns, and/or minor cuts
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be accommodated within very close proximity of free-ranging wild animals
