Vivo Energy Zambia is looking to recruit for the position of Depot Operator to be based in Lusaka
Job Purpose
To ensure the smooth loading, offloading, and distribution of petroleum products, while strictly adhering to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Principal Accountabilities
- Load and offload petroleum products to and from tankers, and storage facilities.
- Ensure that the correct product, quantity, and quality are transferred during loading and offloading processes
- Conduct regular safety inspections and implement corrective actions to minimize hazards and potential risks.
- Promote a safety culture among Depot contractors.
- Ensure the maintenance of product quality standards during all loading, storage, and offloading processes.
- Perform routine quality checks on petroleum products to confirm compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of depot operations, including stock levels, loading details, and product movements.
- Prepare and submit operational reports and documentation to relevant stakeholders as required.
- Assist in the routine inspection and maintenance of depot equipment.
- Interact with customers, transporters, and suppliers professionally and ensure a positive customer experience during product loading and offloading.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience/Skills
- Minimum of a Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Full Grade 12 Full.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in depot operations, preferably in an oil marketing company.
- Knowledge of off-loading & loading product.
- Basic computer skills.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Team Player.
- Proactive and self driven.
