The Zambia Public Procurement Authority (ZPPA) a body corporate and responsible for regulation of public procurement in Zambia invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates for appointment into ZPPA’s establishment for the following position:
A. JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT ACCOUNTANT- FINANCIAL, ZPPA 05 (1 POSITION)
PURPOSE
To undertake financial accounting functions and reporting which include monitoring of day-to-day transactions, reconciliation of accounts and preparation of financial reports.
STATEMENT OF MAIN DUTIES
2.1 Recording of all financial information, receipting of income and timely banking of funds;
2.2 Ensure ledgers are correct with the information recorded;
2.3 Preparation of monthly cashbooks and bank reconciliation;
2.4 Preparation and reconciliation of payroll and generating payroll related payments including statutory obligations and submission of statutory returns;
2.5 Assist in the preparation of income and expenditure statements and the monthly Trial Balance;
2.6 Assist in the preparation of income and expenditure statements;
2.7 Management of imprest and petty cash; and
2.8 Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
3.0 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Full Grade 12 Certificate with at least five (5) credits or better including English and Mathematics.
Vocational or Professional Requirements: Candidates should have any of the following;
Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy or Finance; or
Full Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA); or
Full Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA); or
ZICA Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification.
Relevant Post Qualification Experience: Minimum two (2) years’ experience in financial accounting.
4.0 OTHER SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
Good computation, arithmetic, critical thinking, analytical, leadership, commercial awareness and interpersonal skills.
Good writing and oral communication skills.
Must be a member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants (ZICA) with a Membership Certificate and a paid-up member for 2023.
5.0 TENURE
