The Junior Geologist will be responsible for collecting and recording quality drilling and geological data, working alongside the Geologist-Mining to support the mining teams with timeous input of geological information into daily development production and short-term mine planning.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Provide visible safety leadership in the course of all project engagements
Assist the Senior Geologist with drilling and sampling logistical support.
Manage and coordinate all Geology functions including exploration, cover, delineation drilling programmes and sampling programmes
Log deposits and country rock core from the cover drilling and delineation drilling boreholes
Map all exposed underground deposits and waste, collate the data for geological modelling
Populate and manage current geological data on dynamic mining plans
Populate drilling and mapping dataset onto Geological databases, ensuring data integrity, QA/QC
Interpret geological and sampling (essay) data
Providing support for short-term and long-term mine production planning
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
Experience: 2 years plus
Education Level: Degree
Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Geology, minimum of 2 years’ field experience in Mining Geology
Equipment: Computer literate
Other Requirements: Valid Zambian drivers’ license, successfully obtain a Medical Fitness certificate on a mine
