We are now seeking to recruit a competent and experienced Material Procurement and Inventory management personnel. Your role is very important since the efficient handling of the company’s products and supplies is critical for the attainment of our Company goals.
The successful prospective candidate will be a reliable professional with excellent record-keeping abilities. You will need to possess great attention to detail and a business mindset.
The goal is to ensure that all the construction material needs are met at all times and have adequate material to achieve our business objectives.
The Ideal competent and experienced prospective candidate will have the following Responsibilities to fulfill as part of his/her mandate:
He or she should follow and enforce the company’s procurement policies and procedures. Reviewing, comparing, analyzing, and approving products and services to be purchased. Managing inventories and maintaining accurate purchase and pricing records. Maintaining and updating supplier information such as qualifications, delivery times, product ranges, etc
Responsibilities:
Researching new suppliers as his initial assignments in order to establish a reliable data base for material sourcing purposes and to ensure that all purchased products and materials meet our specifications, and negotiating with reliable suppliers as needed.
Scheduling the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels
Assessing volume requirements against planning assumptions
Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries
Understanding and managing risks to minimize impact on production schedule
Taking follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production
Ultimately, you will liaison with line managers and senior management officials to understand the needs of our Company and ensure we achieve our supply goals in a timely manner.
Devising ways to optimize inventory control procedures
Inspecting the levels of business supplies and raw material to identify shortages
Ensuring product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers
Prepare proposals, request quotes and negotiate purchase terms and conditions
Prepare and issue purchase orders and agreements
Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues and concerns
Inspect and evaluate the quality of purchased items and resolve shortcomings
Analyze industry and demand trends and support senior management with the development and implementation of sourcing strategies.
Implementing all processes to agreed standards and targets and supporting continuous improvement initiatives and identifying areas of improvement
Devise ways to optimize inventory control procedures
Inspect the levels of business supplies and raw material to identify shortages
Ensure product stock is adequate for all distribution channels and can cover direct demand from customers
Record daily deliveries and shipments to reconcile inventory
Use software to monitor demand and document characteristics of inventory
Place orders to replenish stock avoiding insufficiency or excessive surplus
Analyze data to anticipate future needs
Evaluate suppliers to achieve cost-effective deals and maintain trust relationships
Collaborate with warehouse employees and other staff to ensure business goals are met
Report to upper management on stock levels, issues etc.
You will need to be familiar with suppliers and market conditions of all materials for building houses in the construction industry and abilities to manage inbound and outbound operations on the construction site.
Requirements, skills and Qualifications:
Proven experience as material procurement and inventory manager or similar equivalent position.
Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
Working knowledge of inventory management software (e.g. ERP)
3 years experience in a supervisory role will be an added advantage
Ability to accurately track inventory and create reports
An analytical mind with strong math skills
Excellent organizational and planning skills
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
Reliable and trustworthy
A Degree or Better with hands on experience will be an added advantage in Purchasing & Supply , Procurement & Inventory Management. or relevant field.
Relevant qualifications in supply chain management or a similar field preferred (e.g. CPIM) will be a plus.
A registered member of the professional council governing Purchasing & Supply Management.
