Our clients are a well-established international group with a global brand which specialises in the sale of handrail fittings and systems, pedestrian barriers & associated products. They are currently looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Mechanical / CAD Engineer based in Zambia.
The candidate will conduct design load calculations for simple tubular structures, including applications on ramps and staircases and wind loadings where required; assess compliance of handrail and guardrail designs against relevant national and international standards; interpret customer designs to generate bills of material and bespoke drawings.
Key Requirements:
•Mechanical, structural or civil engineering experience and be at ease with reading and producing technical drawings
•Experience and competence in using CAD software
•An engineering degree accredited to the Washington Accord
•At least 5 years’ experience in the last 10 years of engineering directly associated with Australian buildings, 4 years of which must be post-graduate
•A full understanding of Australian building law and standards, including National Construction Code, with evidence of relevant work experience
•Meet the requirements to be a Registered Engineer in Australia, plus those of the Australian Building Licensing Authority
•Experience with handrails or castings
