Job description:
Purpose
To oversee the Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) function and develop and implement a comprehensive CSR strategy for the company, aligning it with the company’s values, mission, and long-term sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing & executing CSR Strategy, as well as conducting periodic program reviews to assess outcomes and effectiveness.
- Staying abreast of relevant research and trends in the areas of focus and promoting best practices.
- Promoting employee volunteering initiatives in coordination with internal stakeholders.
- Working with Corporate affairs/PR teams to drive internal and external engagement.
- Driving budget & monitoring spending to deliver results in line with planned objectives.
- Design and manage (end to end) all resettlements programs that arise during the life of the operation.
- Identify and assess potential social and environmental risks associated with mining operations and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Building stakeholder trust and creating a meaningful social impact, and long-term sustainability and corporate success.
- Promote inclusive and participatory decision-making processes, allowing local communities to have a voice in matters affecting them, and integrating their input into CSR initiatives.
- Prepare and publish CSR reports, communicating the company’s CSR achievements, progress, and impact to stakeholders, investors, and the public.
- Promote and enforce strict health and safety standards for both employees and local communities, minimizing occupational hazards and ensuring that employees work in a safe environment.
- Stay up-to-date with international and local CSR regulations, ensuring the company’s compliance and making necessary adjustments to policies and practices.
Qualifications
- Full Grade 12 Certificate
- Bachelor Degree in Mass Communication, Social Science, Public Relations, or any relevant field of study, Masters in respective fields is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years work experience in similar field with 8 years’ experience as Head CSR of a company.
