JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Desktop Support:
- Oversee Management, Installation and Maintenance of organization Data Centers and ensuring adherence to standards for the Bank’s Primary Data Center and Disaster Recovery site.
- Supervise the Inspection, Repairs, Installation, Modification and routine Maintenance to all critical facility systems.
- Coordinate through Staff or outside Contractor’s preventative maintenance and / or repairs on Data Center Systems.
- Ensure Provision of the Resources, Technologies and Processes required to reduce the overall operating cost of maintaining current Technology through End-User Device Management Solutions.
- Responsible for the Coordination of on-site and remote Technical support to End-Users across the entire Bank and ensuring staff have the right Tools and Peripherals to operate efficiently and effectively.
- Ensure Development, Adherence and maintenance of End-User Policies, Processes and Procedures that promote Productivity and Efficiency.
- Responsible for driving the Technology road map for End-User Device Management and Resourcing.
- Driving of Technology efforts to identify opportunities to improve Productivity across the Company, lower cost, and a continuously improving “End-User” experience.
- Coordinate Research, Design, Deployment, and Test Desktop Hardware and Windows Operating Systems.
- Supervising all activities surrounding all updates of all new Software and Computer Patches as and when they are released in line with the Bank’s Patch Management Policy.
- Address User Service request regarding Hardware, Software and Networking and utilize Remote Access support where applicable.
- Perform Lifecycle Management for Workstations, Operating Systems and Applications.
- Research, Design, Deploy, and test Desktop Hardware and Windows operating systems.
- Conduct Installation, Upgrades and supports the Enterprise Desktop Image.
- Ensure Creation, Updating, Testing and Deployment of Software Packages.
- Assisting in the Selection and Recommendation of Standardized Equipment selection.
- Maintain an up-to-date Inventory of Workstations, Devices and Peripherals.
- Recommending and implementing System and Technology Solutions and Improvements.
- Lead or participate in multiple Projects in accordance with Institutional and Departmental goals.
- Maintains a thorough working knowledge of and adheres to Organization/Project Policies, Processes, Procedures and Regulations.
- Participate in the ongoing maintenance of Computers, Printers and Peripheral Devices.
- Keeps immediate Supervisor well-informed of Activities, Results of efforts, and Problems identified/potential problems and recommends corrective actions to immediate Supervisor.
- Ensure that Computers in the Bank are installed with Standard Image and are configured properly and tuned for optimal Performance.
- Update all new Software and Computer Patches as and when they are released in line with the Bank’s Patch Management Policy.
- Attend to User queries and provide Solutions in timely and adequate manner.
- Ensure Implementation and Compliance to Audit and Legislative requirements.
- Manage and provide Specialist Technical expertise to Information Technology and Business when required.
- Nurture and manage objective working relationships with various Stakeholders including End-Users, Project Staff, Service Providers and Senior Staff members by providing input to the business.
Risk Management:
- Ensure that all risks applicable to your area are identified, assessed, reported and captured in the risk register.
- Identify, monitor and report Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) in your respective unit/department.
- Ensure that you are operating within the given risk appetites and report any breaches promptly.
- Implement and Close all audit recommendations, identified control weaknesses from Risk RCSAs, Consultancy reports or Customer complaints and risk events.
- Ensure you familiarize yourself with and adhere to the Zanaco Enterprise risk management framework and participate in risk management trainings organized by IRM.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field.
Professional: As required by Function
Minimum Experience: 2 years working experience across function technologies.
- Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments.
- Excellent knowledge of Data Center Tier III Standards, Network Switching/Routing concepts, Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, Virtualization, Cloud Solutions, Backup and Recovery.
Certifications Required: ITIL or COBIT 5 or Windows Certification or CompTIA A+
Certifications Desired: Certified Data Center Associate
